FAQs
-
Neuroactive is out of network and does not participate in billing any insurance provider.
We are here to provide supplementary services to your insurance benefits or to serve you if you run out of benefits.
-
Neuroactive does not bill through insurance in order to focus full efforts on providing the best care possible without the restrictions and stipulations put in place by insurance companies. We believe your care should be determined by your needs and what the research says will lead to the best results, not by what a third party insurance company decides they do or do not want to pay for. We work with you on developing a plan of care for frequency and duration of treatment that works for you and gets you to your goals as fast as possible.
We recognize out of pocket expenses are difficult when navigating a medical condition and work hard to make sure every session is meaningful, targeted, and effective. Many times, pricing will actually prove to be in line with traditional models given high insurance deductibles, high co-pays, and the time and expense saved in coming to you for treatment. Plus, you benefit from experienced therapists who only provide 1 on 1 care and are invested in your success.
We will provide you with a superbill for each session upon request that you are welcome to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement at your discretion and with the understanding that your insurance company may or may not reimburse you and such reimbursement may not cover the full cost of treatment.

Neuroactive Therapy and Wellness LLC is a service that comes to you, eliminating that hassle of transportation, parking, and transferring in and out of your car. We provide intense, targeted, and effective PT and exercise care plans in the home (or location of your choice) designed specifically for you. Neuroactive does not take part in billing any insurance provider. You are solely responsible for paying for the cost of treatment and payment is due at the time of service.
You have the opportunity to pursue reimbursement from your insurance provider if you have out of network PT benefits.

As of July 2024, in Alabama, a physician referral is not required for physical therapy in which the person is private paying.
For those who would like to pursue out of network reimbursement for their physical therapy, we highly recommend having a physician referral as this is a common requirement of insurance providers. Neuroactive does not participate in determining requirements of health insurance policies.

No. We will bring any needed equipment except durable medical equipment (such as walkers, wheelchairs, etc). If you need these type of items we can assist you in the process of obtaining them. We also strive to make your treatment functional and meaningful to your life so we mainly use things in your own environment. For wellness services, we bring needed exercise equipment but may make suggestions for things you may want to purchase to continue your exercise program.
